A virtual or hybrid event has two audiences with different needs: the room, which can read the energy, and the stream, which only has what the camera and the microphone carry. James Yang has hosted livestreamed and green screen events in Singapore since 2020, including the Lab-in-Fab media event and brand livestreams.

Hosting to a camera is a different job

In a ballroom you can let a pause breathe and the room fills it. On a stream, three seconds of silence reads as a technical fault and people leave.

So the pacing is tighter, the handovers are explicit, and the host narrates the things a remote audience cannot see: who just walked on, what is happening on the other screen, how long until the next segment. The run sheet is built with your AV and streaming vendor, not handed to them.

Formats hosted

Livestreamed launches and media events

Including the Lab-in-Fab media event in Singapore, hosted to camera for a remote press audience.

Green screen studio hosting

Presented to a virtual set, with the segments timed to the graphics rather than the other way round.

Hybrid dinners and townhalls

A live room and an online audience held together, so neither one feels like the afterthought.

Brand livestreams

Retail and product formats run live with the comments and the clock both running.

Questions

Can you host a livestreamed or hybrid event in Singapore?
Yes. Livestreamed, green screen and hybrid formats have been regular work since 2020, including the Lab-in-Fab media event. The run sheet is built with your AV and streaming vendor so the stream, the room and the programme agree.
Do you work with our AV and streaming vendor?
Yes, and the earlier the better. Most hybrid problems are handover problems, and they are solved in the run sheet rather than on the night.
Can you host to a green screen?
Yes. Presenting to a virtual set is its own discipline, because the segments have to be timed to the graphics.
How do you keep an online audience from dropping off?
Tighter pacing, explicit handovers, and narrating what the camera cannot show. A remote audience leaves in the gaps, so the gaps are what the host manages.

Tell me the date and what the night is.

I reply personally, usually the same day.
